Community Worship Center exists as a community of faith to win unbelievers to the Kingdom of God, develop them to Christ-like maturity and encourage them to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Leadership

REV. DR. ELMER GILLETT

SENIOR PASTOR

Dr. Elmer Gillett is the Senior Pastor of Community Worship Center and has led this vibrant ministry in the Brooklyn community since 1994. Pastor Gillett is a graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He has also studied preaching at Princeton Theological Seminary. He received his doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2000, where his focus was spirituality and leadership. He and his son David have preached in Africa and Belize. They have a ministry in Rwanda, Africa where they feed the children and sponsor children in schools. Pastor Gillett challenges the church to pray, because the prayer life of the church is the barometer for the spiritual pulse of the church. God releases faith and expectancy in a church that prays. He has conducted prayer seminars in the Caribbean, Africa and Canada. He leads a Spirit-anointed Bible study and prayer on Tuesday nights at Community Worship Center. Rev. Elmer Gillett was born in Belize, Central America. Elmer and his wife, Carolyn, have three children: Ashley, David and John-Paul.
